Tree-o-caching

Treeocaching...

Treeocaching Event - Thursday 29th May

The second treeocache was held in Northwood Park recently where we used the popular hi-tech game of geocaching to learn about the historic trees of Northwood Park. The intrepid Treeocachers ranged in age from 6 to 80, proving that geocaching is fun for all ages.

Treeocachers used a leaflet featuring clues alongside their GPS handsets to explore the magnificent trees in the park and learn about their history.

Treeocaching Event - Saturday 1st December 2007

A Tree-o-caching event was held in Northwood Park, Cowes in December to help celebrate National Tree Week. The event was a collaboration between the Histree Trail Project and the Isle of Wight Geocaching Project both projects currently run from the Countryside Section of the IW Council.

Led by Parks and Countryside Manager - Matthew Chatfield, participants used GPS technology to find and learn about the magnificent and historic trees within the splendid park landscape of Northwood Park.
